Kelitak Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section lies at the northeast slope of Kelitak, Yecheng County, Xinjiang. It was named by Lu Zheng and Zeng Yacan in 1957.
Lithology and Thickness
Limestone. Dominated by gray to gray-white thick-bedded oolitic limestone, dark-gray dolomite, dolomitic limestone and calcareous fine-grained conglomerate, gray-green sandstone and rosy limestone, 193.2 m thick. Lithology is stable and thickness increases from south to north to reach 687.6 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformable contact with the underlying Upper Devonian Qizilafu Fm; coeval with the Kushanhe Fm in this same region
Upper contact
Conformable contact with the overlying Heshilafu Fm
Regional extent
Distributed in the piedmont Kunlun Mts. and intermontane depressions, south of Yengjisar−Pixian of the Tiekelik subprovince, extending in a NW−SE band.

Fossils
In the Qiateleke and Kaokuya sections of Akto County are contained Corals Lithostrotion sp., Aulina sp., Lonsdaleia sp., Lithostrotionella sp., Neobeichuanophyllum sp., Neoclisiophyllum sp.; Brachiopods Gigantoproductus sp., Eochoristites sp. and Eomarginifera sp., as well as bivalves, gastropods, foraminifers, etc.

Depositional setting
It is interpreted as a neritic depositional environment.
